Does Italy just have a bunch of stray Lamborghinis lying around? Because that’s what I’m picturing after this.
Earlier this month, a patient in Padua, Italy who desperately needed a new kidney had a match . . . from a hospital 300 miles away in Rome.
And the police had an answer. They just so happen to have a Lamborghini Huracan they use specifically for rushing organs around the country . . . it’s even fitted with a special refrigerator in the trunk.
So they popped the kidney in the trunk and then drove it the 300 miles . . . in TWO HOURS.
That drive takes about five hours under normal conditions.
The Italian police tweeted out that, quote, “Thanks to our Lamborghini Huracan, [we] delivered a donor kidney for transplant to a person in time.”
