After winning SJHL Rookie of the Year honours, Melfort Mustangs forward Riley Ashe is now in the running for the Canadian Junior Hockey League’s (CJHL) Rookie of the Year.
The 17-year-old turned heads all season in the Blue and Green, posting 38 points (eight goals, 30 assists) in 54 games in his first year with Melfort, while adding five helpers in ten post-season contests.
The Warman, Sask., product played a key role in this year’s Mustangs team, managing to keep himself within the top six forwards all season.
On top of his already impressive resume, Ashe has also committed to play NCAA Division 1 hockey with the University of Omaha-Nebraska Mavericks.
