It’s a new take on a classic! The 1980’s stainless steel-clad, gullwing-doored sports car that was made famous by the Back to the Future film trilogy. DeLorean Motor Company has officially revealed its upcoming DeLorean ALL ELECTRIC! The new EV DMC revives the “Medusa” sedan concept that the original DeLorean Motor Company had started development on prior to the automaker going bankrupt in 1982.

When compared to the competition in the 1980s, DeLoreans were very expensive. For example, the Chevy Corvette cost approximately $16,000. Although it was intended to be cheap, for many reasons (limited production run, poor choices, etc.) it did not achieve that. When they launched in 1981, they were $25K ($70K in today’s money) and that would rise to $34K by 1983 (just under $100K today).
