Born into a musical family in rural Nova Scotia, Ruth Manning has been singing throughout her life. She began her musical journey as the fourth member of a family group and from there she has performed solo and played with several different bands over the last thirty years.
In 2016, Ruth Manning and the Prospectors band was formed, and they have had the pleasure of playing at festivals and venues across Nova Scotia, including Heat Up the Mountain Music Festival hosted by Ruth herself.
Ruth has produced five albums to date and in 2019, Ruth won a Josie Music Award for Rising Star Female Vocalist and a World Songwriting Award for Second Wind. She has also received nominations for several awards including Music Nova Scotia Awards and Josie Music Awards. She has been a finalist in several songwriting competitions in the US and the UK.
