Chevy Beaulieu sings songs about living, loving and having fun. The son of a 3-time Canadian Fiddle Champion, Chevy never had a shortage of music growing up. He has been playing and writing music since he was 15 years old, it wasn’t until the summer of 2012 that he decided to take music more seriously when his family band had the chance to open for fellow Canadian Country artist Shane Yellowbird. Unlike his grandfather to his father, Chevy was never forced to play, his father wanted him to come to love music on his own but helped when asked. His mother loves Merle Haggard so much that he says, “The Hag was the best babysitter I’ve ever had” on the count of how much she played his music around him as a child. His mother’s love for “The Hag”, the constant playing of his music and the twang of a tele sparked Chevy’s love for country music.
He is a new county artist that was raised on ‘The Hag’ and Outlaw Country Music, as well as new school artist with old school roots.
His new single ‘Moved to Whiskey’ is a high energy fresh new bittersweet twist on a story told again and again. You break up and she moves out with you thinking you’d never hear from her again. Beer turns to whiskey and whiskey turns to drunkin’ calls to your ex-sweetheart singing your heart out to her over the phone. It takes quite awhile to get over a breakup, especially a breakup with someone you were planning a life with. Those crazy feelings of love never really go away, it just dies down like a bonfire burning all night till it’s just a light smolder come sunrise. Ill be happy if people can relate to this song and ill find comfort knowing that I am not the only one that has felt this before. ‘Moved to Whiskey’ is Chevy’s second song recorded with the talented Bart Mckay and is planning on going back in the studio early this summer, so plan on hearing a lot more from this passionate country artist isn’t going anywhere.
“I want to show the younger artists and musicians that they don’t have to fit in. That you don’t have to be scared of showing off your talents and if you don’t fit the mold, break the damn mold because there’s only one you. Be proud of who you are and what you come from. If you sing about what people care about you will connect with country music fans.” – Chevy Beaulieu
