The rail crossing at Saskatchewan Drive South in Melfort will be closed to traffic on Wednesday.
Work will be underway to repair the line near the Canalta Hotel and the Bluebird Inn resulting in the closure from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Director of Development, Planning and Community Relations with the City of Melfort Brent Lutz said a detour will be in place for the day.
“The area of Saskatchewan Drive from Brunswick Street to the Stonegate Shopping Centre will be open for local traffic,” Lutz said. “Through traffic will be diverted onto South Avenue.”
Motorists are also being asked to watch for the detour signs.
“If you’re travelling in this area, also please watch for workers to keep everyone safe as we all work together to make improvements in our community,” Lutz said.
The crossing will reopen upon completion of the repairs.
